Course Summary

The Phlebotomy Technician is a valuable member of the health care team responsible for the collection, packaging and transportation of blood and specimens to a laboratory, Phlebotomy is the collection of blood I treatment and prevention of disease.
This programme will  prepare individuals to do venipuncture and collect blood specimens for labs analysis. Focus is on the techniques for collecting blood samples. Opportunities are provided for learners to perform routine venipuncture routine capillary puncture and special collection procedures. This course also helps the student perform tests such as blood glucose, specimen collection, and bleeding times. Upon completion of this programme, the successful student will have the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to become an entry-level Phlebotomist. This programme met the needs of students with no prior knowledge or experience in phlebotomy.

  • Wet alcohol cotton swabs
  • Dry  cotton swabs
  • 8 Double ended needles/vacutainer needles
  • 1 Vacutainer holder/adapter
  • 8 Syringe & Butterfly Needle
  • 1 Tourniquet
  • 12 Pairs of gloves
  • 20 Red top tubes & purple top tubes
  • 10 Blue top tubes & gray top tubes
  • 5 Green top tubes
Student should have Lab coats and hand towels separate from kit.
