Purpose and use of protective clothing and safety equipment for a range of applications.
Faults which would make equipment unsafe to work.
Toxic effects of substances used in the workplace for cleaning.
Prevention and remedial actions to be taken in the case of exposure to toxic substances.
Care and storage of potentially dangerous substances.
Basic first aid procedures.
Procedures for dealing with emergencies.
Skills required for dealing with different types of customers.
Situations requiring customer attention.
Security considerations in the different areas of the workspace.
Procedures for reporting incidents.
Importance of maintaining customer confidentiality.
Methods of controlling soiling.
Factors affecting standard of cleanliness.
Importance of monitoring standards.
Types of surface finishes.
Cleaning methods for sanitary fittings.
Procedures for cleaning bathrooms.
Other departments with which liaison is needed.

– Navy Blue Top with white trimmings on collar, sleeves & pockets. Black pants or shirt, black shoes

  • Learner guides (available at the school)
  • Progamme notes (available at the school)

  • 3 Spray bottles for cleaning agents
  • 3 Cleaning cloths/rags
  • Feather duster or any duster
